The gallery’s extensive inventory is exhibited in furnished interiors throughout a complex of buildings set around a private cobbled courtyard. The largest of these buildings is Rope House, which dates from the eighteenth century and was once a Rope merchant’s workshop and home. Located on Kingsclere’s George Street, Rope House opens at the rear onto Rope Yard. This courtyard is enclosed by Rope Studio (a converted barn) on one side and Rope Cottage on the other.
