This was the first of a series of linocuts Flanagan created whilst visiting Scotland 1976-7. Elizabeth Knowles quotes the artist as saying ‘they were all done in the field'. This work depicts a herring drifter seen whilst the artist was at Fort Augustus, which lies on the southern edge of Loch Ness.
