The production of the portfolio was conceived in 1974, following the highly successful International Portfolio produced by the Central Office of the Association in Paris. At the time, the International Association of Art was the only body representing the visual arts at Unesco. The help of the Reyntiens Trust at Burghfield House, and their printers David Harding and Dick Keeton, allowed for the production and exhibition of the prints at the Tate Gallery.
