Harry Bush was born in Brighton and studied art at the Regent Street Polytechnic and at West Lambeth.
He exhibited at the Royal Academy regularly between 1922-1954 and also the Royal Institute of Oil Painters, Royal Scottish Academy, Glasgow Institute, Paris Salon, Atkinson Art Gallery in Southport, Walker Art Gallery in Liverpool and many others.
Bush was elected a member of ROI in 1930. Christie's held a studio sale of his and his wife, Noel Laura Bush's works in 1984. His work is held in many collections including the National Library of New South Wales, Grundy Art Gallery in Blackpool, Russell Coates Art Gallery in Bournemouth, Museum of London and the Imperial War Museum.
In 2004 the Tate Gallery held a large exhibition entitled, 'The Art of the Garden', where work by Harry Bush was included.
