Edwin La Dell 1914-1970

Edwin La Dell was born in Rotherham. In 1935 he won a scholarship to study at the Royal College of Art where his tutors included John Nash and Robert Austin. Later he became Head of Printmaking at the Royal College of Art from 1955 - 1970. He was instrumental in raising the appeal of printmaking and was involved in many of the commissions such as the Lyons Lithographs and the School Prints. His work is held in many collections such as the Royal Academy and the Government Art Collection.
